Le Chat Noir is a delightful watercolor painting of a young woman depicted in a very intimate scene. the name was borrowed by the restaurant in Pigalle, France. Pigalle was the epicenter of art in the past. Henri Toulouse-Lautrec’s studio was here. Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, and Maurice Neumont also lived here as did Andre Breton, and in 1928 Josephine Baker opened her first nightclub next door to Breton’s apartment.
It is also the red light district of Paris with lots of theatres and adult shows on the main boulevard.
It’s a beautiful watercolor piece that can bring to your collection fresh air from europe.
